Test rigs for façade testing

Peutz has the following facilities for the testing of facades and materials for facades:

  • Two test boxes (faca test rigs) in which cladding units up to 3,6 x 3,6 or 4,2 x 4,2 m2 can be built. The rigs are equipped with facilities for measuring air permeability, watertightness, strength, rigidity, condensation, exhaustion, and thermal insulation value. Infrared lights are present for instance for testing thermal expansion. The peak testing pressure is 3000 Pa..
  • A test rig outside the laboratory in which cladding units up to 3,6 x 3,6 m2 can be built. This rig is also equipped with facilities for measuring air permeability, watertightness, strength and rigidity. In addition to this, it has specific facilities for tests with driving rain, for instance on facade cladding with open joints/weep holes. The set-up can also be used for testing the performance of cladding units under outdoor climatic conditions.
  • A set-up for the testing of sealing materials such as foam gaskets. In the set-up 10 metres of band can be tested on air permeability and watertightness.
  • A set-up for determining the pressure-flow relation of air grates in facades and baffles.
